Led and choregraphed by Jreena Green of Jazz Dance Elite, The Lindy Hop Dance Company are the UK’s finest authentic jazz dance company. They are perhaps best known for their spectacular and breathtaking performances of the Lindy Hop – the original form of jive dancing that developed in Harlem in the late 1920’s. However, their talent and versatility is also expressed in the range of dances they perform all influenced by the authentic jazz dance tradition. The dance company’s personnel are drawn from the very best of the UK's dance talent, with its members having performed across the UK, Europe and beyond including at events such as The London Olympics Opening Ceremony, New York's Lincoln Centre Out of Doors Festival, Perth Festival, London’s Cadogan Hall, and more.

The energy, excitement and enthusiasm of this highly talented and professional company of dancers continues to create a huge demand for performances throughout the world. Don’t miss your chance to see the UK’s premier jazz-dance company.

Lee Payne – associate tap dancer

The Lindy Hop Dance Company are proud to have renowned ‘hoofer’, Lee Payne, as an associate artist. One of the UK’s foremost proponents of tap dance, Lee has toured with shows including the likes of Riverdance, Magic of the Dance, and street-dance company Diversity, as well as contemporary music stars such Gabrielle, Enrique Iglesias, and the Pussycat Dolls

The event is part of Canterbury Unlocked, a city-wide celebration.
