At 110 Tankerton road, in Tankerton, resides the small but perfectly overflowing with plants of all sorts, Thrive who provide local delivery. They also offer gift vouchers so you can order the voucher in advance and then pop along to choose. In the warmer months, they also showcase a range of plants for containers, window boxes and planters.
Art & Candles
How about a candle to also celebrate the visit with a Whitstable Candle with notes of Grapefruit, apple, orange & bergamot, made by artist Lauren and sold in her shop The LRM studio, 29 Oxford Street or online at. Lauren also displays her art online and, in the studio, many featuring iconic Whitstable landmarks.

Bounty at 48 Oxford Street primarily sells beautiful jewellery handmade by Lydia in the studio as well as a range of goods, mostly locally sourced. Here you can buy that unique gift, one of a kind piece of jewellery.
No 5 Tankerton Circus 5, St Annes Rd, Tankerton sell an eclectic range of shabby chic furniture, women’s clothing, accessories, sandals, shoes, sunglasses and quirky home furnishings and you can also have a coffee whilst you shop
Ruskin Clothing 8 Harbour St, curated by the lovely Shelley and her daughters, one of which sells her own designs just across the road at ‘and danu’ sells clothing, perfumes, accessories all of which are ethically sourced. They will happily have your order beautifully wrapped and ready to collect.
Afternoon Tea & Scenery
The Crescent Turner on Wraik Hill, has the most amazing views over the estuary and the sunset views are incredible, but no more than their afternoon teas, this quirky boutique hotel is a great place to stay as well, definitely a brownie point winner.
The Bears Trading Company on Tankerton Road, Tankerton has a beautiful garden, a terrace for people watching and tables by the fire, therefore perfect all year a round, Darren and Peter’s homemade cakes are those of legend as are their afternoon teas. They also sell the most wonderful range of bears! So perfect for that extra little present.
Whitstable Castle Tea at the castle does have a special ring to it, overlooking beautifully kept grounds from the terrace or orangery, a great place to celebrate with an afternoon tea. And their seasonal plant store is open in the grounds every Summer
