WITCH-HUNTING PAST AND PRESENT

Canterbury Historical Association presents a public lecture by Professor Ronald Hutton CBE

This evening’s not to be missed lecture will draw upon some of Professor Ronald Hutton CBE's recent publications including The Witch: A History of Fear, from Ancient Times to the Present (Yale University Press 2017) and Queens of the Wild: Pagan Goddesses in Christian Europe (Yale University Press 2022) and his internationally acclaimed knowledge of paganism, witchcraft and magic, both ancient and modern.

Ronald Hutton CBE is Professor of History at the University of Bristol. He is a leading authority on the history of the British Isles in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and on ancient and medieval paganism and magic. He has lectured all over the world, authored over 18 books and 93 essays and appeared in or presented scores of television and radio programmes.

ADMISSION : FREE TO HA MEMBERS, BRANCH MEMBERS & STUDENTS; OTHERS £5.00. Branch membership is £10 per year.
