The Tiger Who Came to Tea

5th April - 8th June 2025
The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge

Immerse yourself in the world of Sophie and enjoy a cup of tea with the Tiger!

Judith Kerr deposited her life’s work with Seven Stories in 2008 and this constitutes one of the most significant collections of artwork by a single illustrator in the Seven Stories collection. This exhibition was initially created by Seven Stories as a celebration of 50 years of The Tiger Who Came to Tea, by Judith Kerr. First published in 1968, the book has been enjoyed by thousands of children who have gone on to share it with their own children, and perhaps even grandchildren too.

Visitors will find family friendly activities alongside reproductions of Judith Kerr’s beloved illustrations from the famous picture book: -Play in the kitchen -Get creative and help make the tea party -Learn more about Judith Kerr -Explore with a sensory bag -Complete our visitor survey and sign up to our mailing list for the chance to win our exhibition related prize. -Join the Tiger for tea at the table for the perfect photo opportunity!
