The Stour Valley Riverfest 2026

Enjoy a calm and restorative hour of Tai Chi and Qigong in the beautiful surroundings of the Westgate Gardens in Canterbury. Led by Paul, an experienced instructor at Kingsmead leisure centre, this session is a gentle introduction to the principles of balance, breath and mindful integrated movement. Suitable for complete beginners, you'll be guided through easy-to-follow sequences that improve balance, strength, and relaxation.

Date: Saturday 26 September.
Time: 09:50 for session from 10.00–11.00

Location: meet at the great Oriental Plane Tree in Westgate Gardens, by the terrace in front of Tower House (CT1 2DB – this is about 150 metres from the Westgate Towers entrance to the Gardens, where St Peter’s Place turns into St Dunstan’s Street).

Participant Requirements List

  • Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
  • Suitable flat soled footwear
  • Sun hat and water if the weather is hot
  • No previous experience necessary!
