Racing Around the World with Nat Harrison

11th July 2026

Are you ready to race around the globe?

Join Nat Harrison, author of The Girl Who Raced the World, as she takes you on a thrilling adventure inspired by Jules Verne's classic story Around the World in Eighty Days. Discover the magic of exploration, travel, and friendship, and find out what inspired Nat to weave together one of the greatest adventure stories with a wonderful cast of characters.

Together, you'll have fun imagining exciting globe-trotting adventures and brainstorm ideas for your own story , followed by a book signing with Nat. Recommended age 7+ This event will take place downstairs at The Little Green Bookshop in Herne Bay. Tickets for this event are charged on a pay as you feel basis, starting at £4 per child and on a completely pay as you feel basis for adults, but please note that each person attending will need a ticket. All money from ticket sales supports the running, continuation and expansion of Canterbury Children's Literature Festival and our year-round outreach work within the local community.

About the Author Nat Harrison was born on a volcanic island in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean. She spent her childhood having adventures in England and Hong Kong and has since journeyed to every continent except Antarctica. In the past, Nat has worked as a sweet seller, burger flipper, bingo caller, and ice cream whipper. She’s also worked for some of the most well-known technology brands, living in Europe, Asia and the US. The one constant across continents is Nat’s love of reading and writing (and living!) adventure stories. Nat’s debut novel, The Girl Who Raced the World (Bonnier, 2025) was shortlisted for Stanfords Children’s Book of the Year 2026 and longlisted for the Branford Boase Award 2026.

Two additional titles will be published by Piccadilly Press (Bonnier Books): The Girl Who Raced the World: Journey Into the Jungle publishing in hardback in October 2026 and The Hunt for Treasure Island will be released in 2027.
