The Little Stour River Day is a celebration of our local chalk streams and a call to action to help protect them! The event will involve a series of talks about the river, followed by riverside demonstrations on citizen science (11am-2:30pm) (TICKETS BOOKED SEPARATELY).
Join us afterwards for the family-friendly portion of the event: Little Stour River Dipping for Families! (3:00-4:00pm) (check in 2:30pm). Families will get the hands-on opportunity to explore the smallest creatures in the Little Stour, learning how to identify these aquatic invertebrates and their role in the food chain.
Depending on river levels, children may be able to get into the river if they are wearing suitable footwear (water shoes or wellie boots). In the event it is not safe, families will be provided with a tray of river creatures to examine up close.
Ages 6 and up. All children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
All adults and children require a ticket to participate. (MAXIMUM 25 SPOTS).
Parking near the Wickhambreaux Village Hall is extremely limited. We encourage attendees to carpool, cycle, or walk if possible.
