This magnificent and emotionally varied piece, which premiered in 1961, sets the Gloria text from the Mass Ordinary for soprano, orchestra, and chorus.
The Symphony Orchestra opens the evening with Tchaikovsky’s iconic Romeo & Juliet Overture, a dramatic work inspired by Shakespeare and familiar from film and television, from Moonraker to The Simpsons.
