Journey To The Centre Of The Earth (1)

12th September 2026

Lucinda McTucket and Stanley ‘Trigger-Happy’ Cavendish are looking for adventure, and it comes in the form of a strange package! A mysterious postal worker sets them off on the quest of a lifetime, with wonders not seen in an age. But is she really all she makes herself out to be, or does she have nefarious intentions. Only time will tell as the adventurers travel through the darkest jungles and into parts unknown with promises of fame and fortune at their fingertips. Fast-paced and filled with fun, this new take on Jules Verne's Journey To The Centre of The Earth has it all - Jungles, Mystery and Dinosaurs!

Suitable for 6yrs and up, family audiences (younger audience members welcome if parents deem it appropriate but dialogue and themes might be lost on them).

Who we are: Strange-Twig is a nationally touring UK based Theatre Company specialising in site-specific story based circus, energetically bombastic theatre productions and madcap walkabouts. Strange-Twig Theatre Company was founded in 2005 by Robert Coke-Woods, initially with a small group of performers from Bretton Hall but fast growing to include industry professionals from across the country.

In these early years Rob established the company’s reputation for staging energetic and engaging outdoor performances for a wide variety of audiences, and when Penny joined in 2010 as a regular collaborator they also began to expand the company’s practice to include new and interesting technologies alongside acrobatics and circus arts to make every performance consistently eye-catching and always fresh and new. With the expansion in scope also came an extension in size for the company.

As of 2024 Strange-Twig engaged over a dozen freelance artists covering all manner of disciplines from singing, dancing, stage combat, puppetry, acrobatics, fire arts, aerialism, and clowning as well as stage management, technical and other back stage professionals.
