CSF The Younger Brother, or The Amorous Jilt

24th July - 26th July 2025

Canterbury Shakespeare Festival's production as part of the 2025 festival

A younger brother plots to secure his father’s favour and a suitable marriage partner.

The amorous jilt is a woman (married to a twerpy husband she wants to be rid of) who rejects ‘the younger brother’ in the interests of courting a rich prince instead. In one of the best scenes the rich prince rescues the jilt from a night time house fire caused by drunken idiots and carries her to the younger brother as part of the rescue.

Location: All Saints Church – Military Road, Canterbury, CT1 1PA This event is ticketed by Gulbenkian Arts Centre but not staged there.

Directions and further information about all CSF performances can be found at our website: www.canterburyshakespeare.co.uk
