Embark on a breathtaking journey through space, sound, and imagination with the Canterbury Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Joe Davies, in an unforgettable evening of cinematic and symphonic power.
Canterbury Symphony Orchestra: Earth and the Stars Sunday 29th March 2026 | 6:00pm | Colyer-Fergusson Hall, Canterbury
The concert opens with Earth by legendary film composer Hans Zimmer— With its lush orchestration, immersive soundscapes, and emotional resonance, Earth captures the awe and fragility of our natural world.
The second half features one of the great orchestral showpieces of the 20th century: Gustav Holst’s The Planets. From the thunderous energy of Mars to the serene mysticism of Neptune, Holst’s iconic suite paints a vivid musical portrait of the planets in our solar system—each movement a world of its own. This Sunday early evening concert is the perfect way to recharge and be inspired before the week ahead—ideal for music lovers of all ages and a spectacular introduction to orchestral music for first-time concertgoers.
