About Writing the River - Canterbury Library Community Room

This writing workshop in association with Wise Words for Wellbeing will explore themes related to rivers and especially our local Great Stour.

Date: Saturday 26 September 2026
Time: 10.30-12:30

Canterbury Library Community Room, The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge, 18 High Street, Canterbury CT1 2RA

We will read poems and prose about rivers and write in response. No prior experience is required. The emphasis is on spontaneity and writing in the moment. Please bring paper and something to write with. Other materials provided.

Led by local writer, poetry therapist and library volunteer, Victoria Field. Victoria is a Sessional Academic and an Associate in the Academy for Sustainable Futures at Canterbury Christ Church University.
