Simon Sebag Montefiore: The Cauldron - Augustine Hall - Canterbury Christ Church University

Explore the making of the modern Middle East with bestselling, prizewinning historian and master storyteller, Simon Sebag Montefiore. The Middle East has long been the source of religions, prize of empires, spark-wheel of conflicts, well of radicalism and epicentre of our tumultuous world. Yet few know its real history; fewer still understand its variety and cosmopolitanism, its complexity and interconnectedness. Join him in conversation as he considers how the Middle East of 1900 became the Middle East of today – and tomorrow. Tickets including a signed hardback of The Cauldron: The Making of the Modern Middle East are available. A limited number of £10 Under-30s tickets are available for this performance.
