An Evening with Canterbury Catch Club - The Parrot

For almost a century (1779 – 1865) Canterbury took immense pride in its Catch Club, a regular night of music, song and wit in a room at the Prince of Wales tavern. In true Catch Club style, Dr Christopher Price and his talented musicians lead us through the history of the club, its 200-year-old lithograph depicting its members (on their best behaviour) and invite you to partake in some serious fun which was the hallmark of this immensely popular culture. The Parrot is a distinguished substitute for the Prince of Wales, and will serve a finger buffet which is included in the ticket price.
