Plumcot Halt is named after the fruit tree in the garden the Plumcot Tree which produces a delicious hybrid half plum half apricot fruit and the Halt is of course the reference to the railway carriage which creates a delightful romantic retreat for couples.
The carriage is deceptively spacious inside with a cosy open plan living and sleeping space a cosy wood burner a separate kitchen and a bathroom which even has both a roll-top bath and a shower cubicle.
The owners have decorated the carriage in gorgeous Romany style primary colours to create a cheerful atmosphere and outside is a small enclosed garden with bistro table and chairs under the Plumcot tree.
Plumcot has its own little private wildflower and orchard garden that in spring is rich with bluebells tulips and daffodils and species such as primroses aconites snakeshead fritillaries and cowslips that nestle under the blossom of two apple trees a Pear tree and of course the plumcot tree.
