About Howletts Wild Animal Park

Howletts, Kent's original wildlife park, houses some of the world's most endangered and rare animals. With over 390 animals, including Kent's only giant anteaters, the largest herd of African elephants in the UK and more gorillas than any other zoo in the country.

See the UK's largest elephant herd, including our cheeky youngsters: 5-year-old Nusu, 4-year-old Oku and 3-year-old Nguvu are our resident trunky troublemakers and are firm favourites of our visitors Explore Walking With Lemurs to get up close and personal with our inquisitive lemur troop Marvel at the life-size prehistoric creatures at Animals of the Ice Age NEW FOR 2025: Joshi's Jungle play area - In May 2025 the new Joshi's Jungle playground opened at Howletts Wild Animal Park. The fun-packed adventure playground invites your little ones to follow in the footsteps of our rewilded gorillas and discover fun facts and secrets along the way.

Go behind-the-scenes and meet your favourite species on a guided tour led by a member of our incredible animal care team If you want to make your day extra special, book in for a close encounter with your favourite animal. Visitors can choose unforgettable experiences including feeding the elephants, going behind the scenes with the gorillas, meeting black rhinos, scattering healthy snacks for red river hogs or even hand-feeding anteaters, prices starting at GBP15.
