About Canterbury Society of Art

The Canterbury Society of Art welcomes artists of all levels of ability, from the newest beginner to seasoned professionals, and embraces artistic practice of all kinds and in all media.

We offer a varied programme of events for around 40 weeks a year, arranged in four seasonal sessions. Meetings take place on Wednesday evenings.

The programmes include practical/social painting sessions, talks, demonstrations and picture discussion, when members can bring works and receive praise/advice. Practical sessions include drawing and painting costume and nude life models. Social painting is when members just work on something in progress, or start something new, along with chat.
