St Martin's Church is the oldest in England still in use as a parish church, and forms part of the Canterbury World Heritage Site.
The churchyard contains the graves of many notable local families and well known people including the artist Thomas Sidney Cooper, RA and Mary Tourtel, the creator of Rupert Bear.
