Mother Goose has ‘mislaid’ a few of her golden eggs. Take a stroll through Canterbury and keep an eye out for the golden egg stickers in shop windows - if you spot 5, you could be the lucky winner of a hamper worth £300 just in time for Christmas!

The competition runs from 15 November to 15 December. 1 lucky winner and 10 runners-up will be selected and announced on 20 December – all receiving festive treats from our local businesses just in time for Christmas.

What you need to know

Terms and conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before entering the ‘Mother Goose’s Golden Egg Competition’ to win a hamper worth over £200. By participating in the competition each participant fully and unconditionally agrees to and accepts these Terms and Conditions.

Eligibility for Participation: The competition is only open to individuals (referred to as "Participants") Participants must be (i) a resident of the United Kingdom and (ii) if under the age of 16, have permission from an adult to enter. Participants can only enter the competition once only. Friends and family of the competition organiser and partners may participate but are not eligible to win.

Access to competition: The Participants enter the competition by spotting 5 golden eggs hidden across the city, and entering the correct locations via an online entry form. A purchase or transaction is not required to participate or win. Canterbury BID and partners do not accept responsibility for network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind, which may restrict or delay the sending or receipt of your entry. Late or incomplete entries will not be accepted. 

Participation Period: The competition is open for participation from 15/11/19 and will close at midnight on 15/12/19. The winner of the competition will be notified by Canterbury BID no later than 16/12/19.

Winner is announced: The winner will be notified via email. If the winner cannot be contacted within 72 hours of the terms of the notification, another entry will be selected and the original winner will forfeit any prize.

The Prize: The prize consists of a hamper worth over £200 and contains items purchased and donated by partners. The Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and non-negotiable. There are no cash alternatives and the organiser's decision is final.

Selecting winners: All correct entries will be allocated a number and a randomiser will select the winning number, and the 10 runners-up numbers.

Competition organiser: The competition is organised by Canterbury BID, partnered by Whitefriars Shopping Centre, Visit Canterbury, Canterbury on Ice and Stagecoach South East.

Canterbury BID and partners reserve the right to reject entries to the competition: All entries that are deemed inappropriate and/or offensive will not be considered. Canterbury BID and partners reserve all rights to decide what is considered inappropriate and/or offensive.

Canterbury BID and partners are not responsible for any late or incomplete entries. If, for any reason, the competition is not capable of running as planned, caused by any causes beyond the control of Canterbury BID and partners which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition and reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition and/or select winners from all eligible entries received prior to the cancellation.

Canterbury BID and partners reserve the right to (i) withdraw the competition (ii) cancel or change the promotion, (iii) cancel or refuse any individual’s entry and (iv) amend these terms and conditions at any time if circumstances make this necessary.

Canterbury BID and partners reserve the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any Participant it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the competition; to be acting in violation of these Terms and Conditions; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.

Canterbury BID and partners are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in the competition or by any technical error which may occur in the processing of submissions in the competition. Canterbury BID and partners are not responsible for any injury or damage to any Participant or to any computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in connection with this competition.
