Summary

Running between Canterbury and Chartham this 3 mile long traffic free multi-user route follows National Cycle Route 18 and provides a beautiful and tranquil journey along the banks of the River Stour, ending in Westgate Parks, suitable for families and a perfect location for a picnic.

You will discover all sorts of flora and fauna, various wildlife bustling about the grasses and throughout the river.

Suitable in all weathers, you could choose to walk along the hardened path, suitable for wheelchairs and buggies or you could cycle. Consider using Kent Cycle Hire if you don’t have your own bike. But cyclists please slow down when approaching walkers and walkers please be aware that cyclists may sound their bell or call out to warn you they are approaching.

Why not expand your day by either starting or finishing your wander with a fun visit to Chartham Vineyard for a tour of the grounds, see a demonstration vineyard and sample the local produce.
