Kent’s top wine producers and vineyards in one beautiful city…
For one day only the inaugural Canterbury Wine Festival celebrates and promotes Kent's award-winning wines, and the ingenuity of local wine creators — Saturday 22 June.
Kent is home to many producers of award-winning wines, from boutique to high quality, large volume wineries. The festival is a superb opportunity to sample fabulous wines and meet and talk to the producers about their wine stories.
If you've ever wanted to find out why Kent, the Wine Garden of England, will rival Champagne as the world's best sparkling wine producing region, now's your chance!
Sip, share and discover the rich history and heritage of Kent's wine, and the stories behind some of England's finest wines. There are two sessions — 11am to 2pm and 3pm to 6pm. Tickets are £35 per person or two for £60.
When you arrive, you are given your very own festival tasting glass, which is yours to take home so keep it close, then you are let loose to wander around at your leisure. You can taste up to 20 samples and will be given a voucher for a plate of cheese and crackers to soak it all up…
You will be given a programme with information on all the exhibitors and the wines so you can make notes and don't have to rely on your wine-impaired memory. You'll even get a free pen to make notes.
When you find that wine that just hits the spot, you can buy it by the glass or by the bottle directly from the producer themselves.
For the more serious-minded there are masterclasses by local Master of Wine, Clive Barlow. One of only 384 Masters of Wine in the World! Masterclasses are £5 and spaces are limited, be sure to book your place when you buy your festival ticket!
On the day you'll meet with wine experts from these Kent wine producers: Barnsole Vineyard, Chartham Vineyard, Simpsons Wine Estate, Biddenden Vineyards, Chapel Down Wines, Domaine Evremond, Gusbourne, Herbert Hall, Hush Heath Estate & Winery, Squerryes Vineyard & Winery, Terlingham Wines, West Fisher Winery and Westwell Wines.
