The city of Canterbury is compact and easily explored on foot. However to explore the wider district, including Whitstable and Herne Bay you may wish to use the excellent public transport links to help you get around.
Local bus services

Park and Ride
Park and Ride is the easiest way to get around Canterbury. There are three park and ride sites located around the city, with regular bus services to the city centre.
The Canterbury branch of Shopmobility is located in Whitefriars car park at the junction of Watling Street and Rose Lane. Shopmobility customers may now park free of charge for up to three hours.
Herne Bay Shopmobility is located at The Christchurch South Room, William Street, Herne Bay, CT6 5NR.

Cycle Parking - There are a large number of cycle parking stands in Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay and elsewhere in the district. There are two weatherproof cycle shelters located in Canterbury; one in North Lane car park, and one at the junction between St Peter's Street and St Peter's Place. These facilities offer parking for 24 bikes and are lit at night by the ultra-efficient LED lightng.
Secure cycle locker - There are a number of secure and covered cycle lockers available for members of the public to hire in Watling Street Car Park in Canterbury city centre.
