Downland Cycle Ltd

Come to Canterbury and visit our Cycle Hire Centre. We have a variety of routes around Canterbury area to suit every cyclist. Coastal and countryside routes are available at varying distances.
We rent out easy to ride quality hybrid bikes, locks are supplied with every bike so you can stop off for a drink in a café or pub on your ride.
Our most popular route is The Crab and Winkle Ride. An off road cycle trail between Canterbury and Whitstable along some of the route of the worlds first passenger railway. A ride of 7 miles in each direction. Have a day out at the seaside, eat Whitstables world famous oysters then a gentle ride back to Canterbury.
More experienced riders can venture further a field. National Cycle route 1 over the Historic Cinque Port town of Sandwich and have a cream tea on the Ancient Quayside before exploring the old medieval town.
We also have 2 day rides, the above ride out to Sandwich, then carry on around the coast through the old smuggling towns of Deal, Kingsdown, St Margaret's Bay then on to Dover and it's fine Norman Castle.
