2013 marks the centenary of the birth of Benjamin Britten, probably the finest of all Britain’s modern composers. Music by Britten and Vaughan Williams.

We will mark this year with a performance of his early work The Company of Heaven, for speaker and choir with orchestra. The concert will also feature Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending, a top favourite always on the classical music charts, and his exquisite work An Oxford Elegy, also for speaker with choir and orchestra. An atmospheric and uplifting concert for a summer evening.

Juliette Roos, will be violinist in The Lark Ascending in Canterbury Cathedral on Saturday 22 June 2013, 7.30pm. Juliette was a Strings Finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year 2012 and winner of the Walter Todds Bursary (In memory of the late Walter Todds, founder of BBC Young Musician).
