“Pleasant room, good breakfast with lovely views”

We were told on arrival / and there was a hand written notice in the hallway that it was not possible to pay by credit / debit card (even though I had given my debit card as security) or by cheque with a card only cash. We had to drive to Wye to obtain cash and so were not able to go to a nearer restaurant. I would have expected to have WIFI facilities but this was not available. The shower was not as clean as it might have been and there was a very small amount of shower gel in the bottom of a bottle- only enough for one person. A note in the hall asking guests not to remove towels from the rooms did not give a good impression. The time for breakfast was rather restricted. I would not have given this a 4 star rating. Checking out time was 10am and this was impressed on us that we had to be sure to leave by this time.
