4 St. Alphege Lane,
St Peter's School is a family-run business, teaching English to foreign students since 1966. We are a medium-sized school with usually 50-100 students in summer and 20-40 during the winter. We have a friendly and supportive atmosphere and many of our staff have been with us for many years and are trusted and experienced. St Peter's has been accredited by the British Council since 1996 and we are also a member of English UK.
It is possible to study for one week to one year. We also have intensive and less intensive options (15-25 hours per week). We offer General and Examination English classes, one-to-one classes and English and Business classes. Lessons at all levels focus on grammar, vocabulary, accuracy, fluency and pronunciation. To ensure you have a balanced timetable, you will also focus on reading, listening, speaking and writing.
Most practice of grammar and vocabulary in the classroom is done in pairs and small groups so you can become more confident when speaking English.
Afternoon classes focus mostly on fluency, practising what has been covered in the morning.
The majority of our students are aged between 18 and 50. Our minimum age of enrolment for individuals is 16 years old but we also welcome mature students.
Our teachers are all qualified professionals with the minimum of the Cambridge CELTA/Trinity College certificate or equivalent. Some have taught English abroad and speak more than one language.
The school has eight classrooms. There is wifi throughout the school also an internet room which students can use for self-study. We have a games room and a large sitting area with a small cafe bar where students can meet their friends for a cup of tea, a snack and a chat. During the summer months they can relax in the private 18th century walled garden.
