The Loft at Acorns is peacefully situated in large private grounds in an area of outstanding natural beauty encompassing Blean Wood. It is furnished to a high standard to provide you with a memorable stay.
The Loft is accessed via a set of external steps into an entrance hall and utlity area. There are doors leading to the modern bathroom as well as to the light, open living space with a fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge areas. The bedroom, with twin beds, is beautifully presented to provide a restful end to a busy day.
Acorns has miles of country walks on its doorstep and is ideally situated to explore east Kent being less than 15 minutes from Canterbury and the historic towns of Faversham and Whitstable and 30 minutes from the Turner Centre in Margate. A day trip to France is quite achievable with fast and easy access to both ferries and the Channel Tunnel.
Dargate is part of the larger village of Hernhill set in the heart of idyllic Kentish countryside. In the centre of Hernhill there is a classic village green bounded by the church and the 14th century Red Lion and a little further on at the end of Hernhill is Staple Street and the beautiful Mount Ephraim estate with its Edwardian gardens.
Close by there is the route of the Crab and Winkle Railway Line, which can now be walked or ridden along between Whitstable and Canterbury. Whitstable still posses a working harbour with an array of fresh fish for sale and vibrant harbour side during the summer. Faversham is steeped in history, with many fine buildings; a creek runs to the centre of the town and Shepherd Neame the oldest brewery in England offers regular tours.
In Dargate there is the Michelin Guide listed Dove Inn, a 200m walk. It is a wonderful small country pub with a big reputation for outstanding food and service providing a relaxed and special place to eat and drink with a warm welcome to our visitors.
There are also a number of other excellent restaurants in close proximity notably The Sportsman in Seasalter and Reads in Faversham.
