Set in the heart of the Kentish countryside this peaceful retreat is in the village of Nonington, nestled in an idyllic valley on the edge of the North Downs. The house is full of history and character being originally a 15th Century Hall House with a later Victorian weatherboard shop addition, formerly the village drapers. The shop provides very private and spacious bed and breakfast accommodation and there is a restored oak-framed detached barn which is available for self-catering breaks.
The house is set in over an acre of tranquil landscaped gardens with views over rolling fields and the ancient village church. The feeling of peace and seclusion complement the ease of access to local places of interest and transport links.
Farthingales is a beautiful place to unwind and spend time recharging yourself. The local countryside offers good walking and cycling and there are many places of interest to visit. These include Canterbury, Dover Castle, and the Cinque Ports of Sandwich and Deal. There are several grand houses and gardens in close proximity with Goodnestone Park only one mile away; Farthingales being originally part of the Estate.
Come and let yourself unwind at the award-winning Farthingales.

By car: Via the A2 - take the Aylesham/Wingham exit (B2046), turning left at the roundabout and then first right towards Nonington. Follow that road to a T-junction and turn left. This will bring you into Nonington, passing a petrol station on the right. Turn directly left at the Royal Oak pub (Vicarage Lane), and follow the road all the way down to the Church of St Mary the Viirgin. Farthingales is directly opposite. If travelling from Folkestone or Dover (A2), turn off at the Aylesham/Wingham junction, and proceed as directed above.
By train: Nearest rail station is at Ayelsham, about a 5 minute drive away. If you are walking, the journey is about 15 minutes. Turn left out of the station, go across the rail bridge and carry on for approx 10 minutes, taking the second turning on the right (Old Court Hill). Nonington is at the bottom of the hill and Farthingales is the first property you come to on the right-hand side opposite the church.
