Café Du Soleil

Café Du Soleil is situated beside the river Stour in Canterbury in the historic former 18th century Wool Store. The Restaurant is accessed by its own bridge by the river, and we also have a beautiful riverside terrace available for al-fresco dining. The building was restored with a grant from English Heritage and it now showcases the extensive use of reclaimed building material from the 14th century city wall.

Our cuisine draws influence from Provence in southern France, and from Italy, to create a modern Mediterranean cuisine. The menu changes with the seasons, and much of our food is cooked in our wood burning oven.

We take our pizzas very seriously! Our oven reaches temperatures in excess of 400C and is essential for cooking authentic pizzas. We feed the fire with locally sourced wood from managed forests. We make our dough fresh every day using flour imported from Naples, spring water, fresh yeast, extra virgin olive oil and sea salt.

The menu offers two distinct dining experiences. For a quick meal, you can choose one of our superb wood fired pizzas. Alternatively, experience our unique perspective on the healthy sun-drenched cuisine of the Mediterranean.

Pre Theatre Special: £13.95
Whether going to the Marlowe Theatre, the Gulbenkian, or just an early post work meal, Café du Soleil offers its diners the option of a two course special between 4pm and 6.30pm every day.
Two courses and a drink*:
Starters - Duck Terrine or Aubergine Gratin or Calamari Salad.
Main Courses - an pizza, salad or sandwich.
Any desset from the menu.
*glass of house wine/beer/juice.
