Roman objects hands-on session
Students take on the role of archaeologists, investigating and handling real artefacts from Roman Canterbury. Choose from one of three themes… Roman everyday life, Roman pottery, or Roman building materials. The hands-on area accommodates up to 18 students, working in groups of two or three. Larger groups are divided in two, with half the group exploring museum displays, and half handling artefacts, and then swapping round. Cost: £1 per student in addition to museum entry price. Time: 40 minute interpreter-led session (maximum group size 18).
Enjoy an interpreter-led highlights tour of Canterbury Roman Museum, including a Roman mystery objects investigation session in the hands-on area. This fun, interactive tour can be adapted to suit any level of English, from beginner to advanced, and provides students with the opportunity to practice their English, by asking questions and providing answers in English. For groups of up to 30 students. Cost: £25, in addition to the usual entry price to the museum. Time: Length of tour 30 minutes, with 30 minutes to look round the museum.
