Early Years 

 

Canterbury Roman Museum is a safe and stimulating venue for a nursery or pre-school group visit. There are lots of exciting things for little people to investigate, from the cavalryman’s horse and Roman marketplace, to the hands-on area with try-on costumes and real Roman objects to touch!

Self-guided visit

Explore the museum on an exciting self-guided (teacher-led) visit. Investigate the displays, discover the remains of the Roman house with its impressive mosaics and under floor heating system, try on costumes and investigate real Roman objects in the hands-on area. Cost: £2 per child for non-Canterbury district schools, £1 per child for Canterbury district schools. 

Little Caesars - Mini Roman Explorers

Why not come along for a Little Caesars - Mini Roman Explorers visit with your nursery or pre-school group? Children have the opportunity to explore the museum displays, enjoy an interactive Roman story time and get creative in the hands-on area making a fun laurel wreath to wear or simple mosaic to take home. Cost: £3 per child (miniumum £50 charge). Time: 1 hour interpreter-led visit.
