Nicky Thompson will be exploring the Beaney, using the experience to take her creative writing practice in fascinating new directions and capturing what happens when the collection and the community meet. Nicky will be encouraging other writers, through interactive workshops, to create individual as well as group responses to the collection.

Launch event for Maggie Harris' second collection of short stories, following the success of 'Canterbury Tales on a Cockcrow Morning', both published by Cultured Llama. Parakeets, smugglers, mermaids, lost boys and poets are some of the characters that span the Isle of Thanet across time, giving a nod to the past and speeding up through the 20th century.

Place, history, mystery and ghosts all feature in Maggie Harris' new collection of stories, 'In Margate by Lunchtime', set on the Isle of Thanet. This workshop will offer guidance on crafting stories from ideas to completion through the genre of short fiction, which is closer to poetry than the form of the novel.
