Herne Bay Pier
Herne Bay Pier was originally the second longest pier in the country, extending 1147m into the sea to receive visiting passenger steamers. Today the sports centre has been demolished and the pier is now open to visitors as a leisure and events space.
The pier retail village is a must for those who enjoy quirky and retro products. Open most days of the year weather permitting, you can purchase quality crafted silver jewellery and beadwork, bags, gifts for the home, aromatic presents, stunning photographic pictures and art. Once you have exhausted yourself with lots of purchases, you can relax with a slice of scrumptious home-made cake and a drink in the 1940s style tea room.
