    Cakes and Ale is W. Somerset Maugham’s short novel set in Whitstable and a delicious satire of London literary society between the Wars, referencing many of the town’s landmarks and landscapes. Val Hennessy (former chief Literary Critic, Daily Mail) will be chairing a light hearted open-debate for readers and book groups.
