Bloody Rain - Bandleader and singer songwriter Sarah Jane Morris is delighted to present the music from her new album.
Sarah Jane has brought together world class musicians from Africa, from North and South America and from Europe to combine with her regular, brilliant line up, and the result is musicianship of unique and memorable power and creative authority. The launch tour of Bloody rain will be seen as one of the major achievements of Sarah Jane’s extraordinary career, and these concerts are an unmissable opportunity for enthusiasts of great music to indulge their tastes at the highest level.

Sarah Jane’s band includes Martyn Barker, Tony Remy, Dominic Miller, Henry Thomas, Tim Cansfield, John Eacott and Adriano Adewale.

Special guests on the album Bloody Rain are: Courtney Pine, The Soweto Gospel Choir, Pee Wee Ellis, Keziah Jones, Eska, Annie Whitehead, Michael Rosen, Mornington Lockett, Seckou Keita, Avishai Cohen, Adam Glasser and Ian Shaw.

Check out this video footage from the recording of "Coal Train" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM6cZJp9KpE. (Filmed before the addition of the Soweto Gospel Choir.)

The songs are influenced by African, European and South American rhythms and melodies, and the subject matter is likewise worldwide: love, loss, childhood, homophobia, contraception, honour killings, child soldiers, corruption, greed, fear and freedom.
The songs celebrate humanity while issuing an urgent call to action to right the wrongs suffered by so many.
