Immerse yourself in Medieval activities at The Canterbury Tales Visitor Attraction. Every day in August enjoy Maypole Dancing, Knights School, The Art of Alchemy and Storytelling in our beautiful medieval garden.

This August The Canterbury Tales Visitor Attraction has a host of treats and activities in store for families. Our award-winning team will be bringing medieval tradition and fun to life - visit to discover what everyone is talking about!

Knights School: calling all young squires - draw your swords and defeat your enemies! In this fun activity, boys and girls will learn skills needed to thwart enemies and slay dragons!

Alchemy & Medicine: step into a magical work of alchemy in our medieval medicine garden. Medieval myths are unveiled in this demonstration teaching how herbs were used to cure ills and alleviate ailments.

Tree of Tales: Unlock your imagination under our beautiful Yew Tree. Watch as our Costumed Characters bring to life stories of bravery, trickery, love and betrayal.

Maypole Dancing Lessons: Put on your dancing shoes and make new friends as your medieval instructor teaches you the ancient art of maypole dancing!

From Faversham and London - approach via M2, A2. Take A2050, Signposted Canterbury. Closest car parks: Wincheap Park & Ride (Long Stay), Rosemary Lane (Long Stay), Castle Street (Short Stay), Castle Row (Short Stay).

From Ashford - approach via M2, A2. Take A2050, signposted Canterbury. Closest Car Parks: Wincheap Park & Ride (Long Stay), Rosemary Lane (Long Stay), Castle Street (Short Stay), Castle Row (Short Stay).

From Ramsgate, Herne Bay and Thanet - Approach via A28. Closest Car Parks: Sturry Road Park & Ride (Long Stay), Queningate (Short Stay), Whitefriars (Short Stay), Watling Street (Short Stay).

By rail:
Turn right out of station into Station Road West. Turn left at the end of the street into St. Dunstan’s. Continue straight on for about 5-10 minutes, passing through the West Gate, into St. Peter’s Street and on into The High Street. St. Margaret’s Street is on the right hand side just past Nason’s Department store. The Canterbury Tales is on the right opposite HMV.
