The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge
18 High Street,
Holder and Lamoon, practicing artists, will be working together to make new works in response to the eclectic objects to be found in the galleries.
Jill Holder has long been fascinated with our urge to collect, identify and collate. She works with the public to produce installations using found objects.
Bob Lamoon works in a wide range of media, including photography, drawing, painting and sculpture, inspired by his travels and journey through life.
They will also be asking members of the public to share images and descriptions of their own collection for inclusion in a limited edition book entitled 'A Collection of Collections', that will be presented to the Beaney at the end of their residency.
Meet Holder and Lamoon in the galleries every Wednesday to answer questions and discuss the progress of the project. They are hoping to find a wide range of personal collections (bring photographs with you), from the small and homely to the large and grand.
