Details

Step back in time and beneath the streets of the modern city and discover evidence of the bustling Roman town of Durovernum Cantiacorum.

View the remains of an original roman town house (around which Canterbury Roman Museum is built) with its mosaics and underfloor heating. See significant Roman finds, and discover the timeline which tracks the history down of the present Canterbury to the level of the original Roman street.

Adults and children aged 12 plus. Free 40 minute guided tour as part of Heritage Open Days. Meet inside the entrance at 12pm.

Organised by Canterbury Society and Canterbury Roman Museum.
