Have a go at the traditional technique of coppicing at West Blean using hand tools.
After felling the tree, stacking logs and clearing brash there will be an opportunity to learn about the different uses of wood and how coppicing plays an important role in local ecology and the conservation of some of our most endangered wildlife. Led by Mark Tuson, Canterbury Area Warden.
Rough terrain, wet and muddy in places. Warm clothing, good boots and waterproofs. Children must be ages 12 or more and accompanied by an adult.
