Beaney proud to have been shortlisted for Art Fund Prize for Museum of the Year 2013!

The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge would like to extend our congratulations to fellow finalists the William Morris Gallery for winning the Art Fund Prize for Museum of the Year 2013 and to Hepworth Wakefield for taking home the £10,000 Clore Prize for Learning.

As one of ten British museum finalists, the Beaney is grateful for the recognition the Art Find Prize Museum of the Year nomination has given us. It has provided us with a national platform which will enable us to reach out and engage with a wider audience in the future.

Though we are naturally disappointed not to have won, it was an honour to have been shortlisted just six months after reopening. Almost 300,000 people have poured through our doors since September last year and there has been very positive feedback from artists, schools, cultural organisations and community groups.

Thank you to everyone who supported our bid by nominating us for The Art Fund Prize for Museum of the Year 2013!
