Clare Ellen Guest House is a charming Victorian town house dating back to the late 19th century which retains its period character whilst offering all the modern conveniences you would expect from a four star establishment.
A friendly, family run guest house situated in a quiet residential area minutes from Canterbury town centre. Clare Ellen benefits from private off road parking, a garden and free internet access.
Each of the six large and elegant en-suite bedrooms features TV, hairdryer, clock radio, mini fridge, razor points and tea and coffee making facilities. We also offer luggage storage, laundry service and ironing facilities.
Start the day in our cosy dining room with a wide choice of high quality breakfasts including a buffet of cereal, yoghurts and fresh fruits. Or opt for our traditional full English breakfast with vegetarian option. We can cater for any special dietary requirements.
Walk just a few minutes to reach the lively centre of Canterbury where you will find quality bistros, cafes and restaurants. As well as dining out and shopping there are many historic buildings to visit like the world famous Canterbury Cathedral or St Augustine's Abbey, plus a wide choice of art galleries, museums and theatres. Our location, just east of the town centre, provides excellent travel links; Canterbury East train station and the bus station are less than five minutes walk.

Directions from London - take exit 7 from M2 following the sign: Canterbury/A2/Dover/Channel Tunnel, on the roundabout turn left onto A2. Take turn off to Canterbury. First roundabout go straight over. Second roundabout bear round to the right following the ring road (Rheims Way) around Canterbury. Third roundabout turn right, (this will be signposted Ashford/Wincheap Industrial Estate A28). As you come up Wincheap we are the fourth turning on the left - Victoria Road.
Directions from Dover - follow the road A2 signposted Canterbury/M2 for about 16 miles, take the exit onto A28 signposted Ashford/Wincheap Park and Ride. On the traffic lights turn right. Continue to follow the road for about 300 yards until you see Thanington Hotel on your left and 'Canterbury Lighting' shop with dark blue marquees on your right hand side. Turn right into Victoria Road.
Directions by train - take train to Canterbury East railway station. As you come out of the station doors turn left, at the bottom of the road turn left into Wincheap. Keep on left handside of the road, Victoria Road is the fourth turning on the left as you walk up Wincheap.
