The Whitstable Castle and GardensA wonderful day out for those of you with a few hours or even a whole day to spare. The best way to get the most out of your trip to the Castle is to combine it with a visit to nearby Whitstable Old Town, The Harbour and the wonderful beaches and promenades of Tankerton all of which are just a few hundred metres from the Castle itself.
The Castle - dating back to the 1790's, the Castle and Grounds have been home to local merchants and dignitaries and has remained a landmark attraction throughout its long and interesting history. It has recently undergone a major refurbishment and restoration to return it to its former glory funded by the Lottery, Canterbury City Council and other benefactors and is now a 'must see' for anyone visiting the town.
