Marcus Du Sautoy and Victoria Gould.

This sharp and funny show tells a story of friendship, exploration and life beyond mathematical equations. X lives his life - alone but happy - confined to a cube he never leaves. He meets Y who has spent her life exploring their known universe. She playfully challenges X to join her in searching for answers to universal questions.

One of the UK’s leading scientists and popular broadcasters, Marcus du Sautoy is both a Professor of Mathematics and Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science – a role in which he succeeded Richard Dawkins. Actress Victoria Gould also holds an MSc in Mathematics, and has regularly collaborated with theatre company Complicite, which is where her work with Marcus started. Exploring the imaginary worlds of both maths and theatre, this highly entertaining performance illustrates what happens when two world views collide.
