St Peter's School of EnglishSt Peter's School is a family run business which has been teaching English to foreign students since 1966. We are a medium sized school with usually 50-100 students in summer and 20-40 during the winter. We have a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Most of our staff have been with us for many years and are trusted and experienced. St Peter's has been recognised by the British Council since 1972 and is a recognised international sponsor. We are also a member of EnglishUK.
St Peter's School is situated inside an attractive, period building in the middle of the historic city of Canterbury, (pop 40,000). We are just a few minutes' walk from the magnificent cathedral and the city centre with its shops, cafes and sites from the winding medieval streets and their often ancient buildings. In the evening students can go to the theatre or cinema or relax in one of the many restaurants and pubs as well or attend the regular social evenings at the school itself.
The school has eight classrooms with use of video and audio equipment. There is also an internet centre where students can work on language programmes. There are nine free broadband computers plus a library of audio visual materials where students can listen to stories, practise aural comprehension and language exercises. At the top of the grand old building there is a games room and a large beamed sitting area with a small cafe bar where students can meet their friends for a cup of tea and a chat. During the summer months they can relax in the secluded yet picturesque, 18th Century walled garden.
