Hotly tipped indie-electronic four piece Native People headline Beautiful Town Music presents at Gulbenkian with support from melancholic alt-pop four-piece Glass Peaks and indie-pop duo Holy Pinto.

Youthful and full of ambition, Native People combine classic 80s synths with fresh indie-electronic ties drawing influence from contemporaries Shura, Friendly Fires and Two Door Cinema Club. The band have previously received Record of the Week (BBC Introducing Kent) and Discovery of the Week (Amazing Radio) plus features on Clash, AMBY & Spindle. The quartet’s vivacious live set saw Native People sell out Club NME at London’s prestigious, Koko and caught the attention of indie experts Propaganda. Clash describes their new single Call Me as “the sort of thing that can make you dance and still pull your heartstrings” and is the first release from the 'To Lose What Ep' due in August.

Glass Peaks are quickly earning themselves a reputation as one of the South-east’s hottest new talents. With influences such as Joy Division and The Smiths and resonating the sound of Ben Howard, Foals, The Maccabees and White Lies. Sonically the group pen beautifully unpredictable and dynamic songs; evocative lyrics are consumed by waves of moody, syncopated guitar licks, progressively erupting to a serendipitous full-scale wall-of-sound induced by pounding drums and driving bass lines. As the band become increasingly revered for their powerful live show, it’s easy to hear and see why so many people are already captivated by their sound.

Holy Pinto is the charming indie-pop band of Canterbury duo Aymen Saleh and Ryan Hurley. Built on the foundation of Aymen’s bright, shimmery rhythm guitar coupled with Ryan’s uniquely commanding, creative, and dynamic drumming, they are influenced by the prosaic storytelling style of artists such as Jens Lekman, The Mountain Goats and The Weakerthans. Aymen’s vocal draws comparisons to fellow compatriot Frank Turner, and more stylistically The Front Bottoms. However, their warm, indie-rock sound is more reminiscent of bands such as Death Cab For Cutie and Bombay Bicycle Club. Holy Pinto's debut album 'Congratulations' is out now via Soft Speak Records.
