Tutor: Kathryn Rennie
Ideal for total beginners to oils, our tutor has designed this course to give you the tips and tools you need get you started. The tutor will give you simple and dynamic approaches to painting in oils with a focus on both responding to landscape as well as working in the studio from still life. This will provide you with a thorough introduction to this versatile and accessible medium.
Teaching will be through demonstrations and one to one time with each student. The tutor Kathryn Rennie works on her own piece during the sessions so students can observe the process of development.
What to bring: You will require a set of brushes, so please bring them with you! Do contact us for advice on brushes if you are not sure what to bring. It may also be useful to bring a plastic folder or portfolio to transport your work home.
All materials and equipment are carefully selected and supplied. (Students may prefer to bring their own brushes)
Smocks/aprons are provided for working in but we do also recommend wearing old clothes.
Transportation for any field trips is provided where appropriate.
Entrance fees to galleries/museums where part of the course.
Refreshments provided throughout the day.
Timings and Breaks: Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided
Once you have reserved your place you will receive an email confirmation and you will be registered. There is no need to bring any proof of booking with you.
