City Sound Project 2016 will take place on Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May - a bank holiday weekend.

Established in 2012, City Sound Project brings music of all genres, from electronic DJ's to live bands, poetry, art and more in the historic city of Canterbury for a weekend of cultural indulgence unique to the south of England. Previous headliners have included globally renowned Bastille, George Ezra, MNEK, Disicples, Duke Dumont, Slaves, Gorgon City and Hannah Wants.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site plays host to this boutique festival, with gigs set inside some of the UK's most unique locations. Venues such as the medieval Westgate Towers and the 18th century Greyfriars Chapel are just two of the venues you won't find anywhere else like in the country.

The festival is hosted at 13 venues across the city including open air spaces, chapels, towers, pubs and clubs. Festival goers exchange their tickets for a wristband on the day at one of three exchange points, which then gets them into all parts of the festival.

Once checked in, a lanyard with a full festival programme will be provided, with a map of Canterbury and directions to all the festival locations and timetable of all the gigs.

Keen to give back to the local community, there will also be free to enter areas for the public to enjoy and more family friendly events such as art, poetry and secret sets from some of the festival's biggest acts.
