Canoe Kent

Canoe Kent offer fully guided day trips and multi day tours on the rivers of South East England with excellent opportunities to view rare wildlife, stunning scenery and hidden historical sights. Deserted islands campsites are our speciality! Beginners welcome.
All food, drink and safety equipment is provided. On overnight trips tents are also provided; you just need to bring a sleeping bag and a change of clothes. We pride ourselves on the standard of food we offer whilst on tour; our ingredients are locally sourced, organic or fair trade wherever possible and if we can include wild food in our dishes, we will.
Waterways we operate on include the Hythe Royal Military Canal between Hythe and Rye, the River Stour from Canterbury to Sandwich and the River Medway between Tonbridge, Rochester and the Isle of Sheppey. Most of our experiences are physically easy, scenically beautiful on flat water, but if you want something a little wilder we can also guide you around the River Medway Estuary, which is over 5 miles wide at one point and offers energy sapping, large horizon explorations. We haven't increased our prices for 2013, and new activities include Seal Watch Half Day excursions and a guiding service, for larger groups who have their own kit but need to be shown the local conditions.
Our canoes take 2 customers at a time (or 3 if you're small!) and trips can last from 4 hours to a week in length. We can tailor make a trip for you according to your needs (bird watching, photography, etc) and there are no set dates for any of our departures. Just take a look at our website, decide where and when you want to go and we'll do the rest.
Your guide will be trained by the St Johns Ambulance in activity first aid, and also be judged a competent paddler by the British Canoe Union.
General:
Service dogs are allowed. As long as they can sit still for a few hours.
Notes:
Disabled people and those with any health issues are welcome on our tours. However, we must stress that customers should read the 'Questions & Answers' section on our website and judge for themselves if they are capable of completing our tours. If in doubt give us a call or an email and we can discuss. Bear in mind, we operate in the wild outdoors. The places we get into and out of the canoe are mostly firm slipways but sometimes slippery river banks, and to get to the best scenery we have to go to remote places, so please bring any emergency medication you need with you.
Canoe Kent are offering 10% off any of their adventures, including Seal Watching Tours, between 18 February and May 2013. Just mention Visit Canterbury when you email to get the discount.
