Access
The revitalised and extended Beaney has a new accessible entrance at Best Lane, with step free access into the building, the provision of a platform lift and a flight of ‘easy going’ steps, which are comfortable for the ambulant disabled and allow for access for push chairs and other mobility equipment. The new entrance opens into a light, well lit and spacious atrium with clearly identifiable way finding signage and maps of the building to indicate location of facilities but also special exhibitions and activities. For the first time the building has accessible toilets on all levels plus baby changing facilities. Split level reception and library counters have been used throughout to allow access for both standing and seated visitors and a 12 space disabled car park has also been provided at the rear of the building, along with accessible public lavatories.
Two wheelchairs are available for visitor use.
For more information about access at the Beaney Art Museum and Library contact 01227 378100.
