Canterbury Heritage Museum

From Roman settlement to Rupert Bear, see the history of Canterbury through fascinating objects, hands on displays and activities all set in the magnificent medieval Poor Priests' Hospital. The museum currently houses some of the art collection from the Royal Museum and Art Gallery, which is presently closed for redevelopment.

Hands on activities have been specially designed to appeal to family groups - you can look at gold thread under the microscope, smell medieval poo from a city cess pit, make a floor tile design of dragons and mythical beasts, open the Elizabethan treasure chest to help you decide on Marlowe's death or do some 'friend or foe' wartime plane spotting.

A joint ticket for the Roman Museum and the Canterbury Heritage Museum can be purchased for £10.00 saving you £4.00.
